What’s been happening:

Since I graduated in 1989 with my Chemical Engineering degree, I went to work for Armstrong World Industries Inc. in Lancaster, PA as a Plant Chemical Engineer for their R&D center. Most of my work there involved research projects for building products, project engineering, environmental and safety duties. I was promoted in 1993 to one of their subsidiary divisions, Thomasville Furniture Industries, Inc. in North Carolina, where I would spend the next 15 years doing Environmental duties for 27 to 34 facilities as the Corporate Environmental Manager. Unfortunately, with the explosion of the import business we were reduced to 3 American furniture manufacturing facilities and I was down-sized in 2007. I am doing some environmental consulting on my own, but I am currently looking to relocate to areas where manufacturing jobs are more prevalent. When I left Penn State, my son was almost 2 years old. He is now 21 and living on his own. I got married in 2004 and we have no children together. My husband is a pipefitter/welder for a chemical facility and we own 6 houses. I have also been doing taxes for Jackson Hewitt for 9 years and recently applied for a job with the IRS as an alternate career.
